GoodLink Questions & Answers

What is the over view of Goodlink?
GoodLink is a software application that, once installed on your mobile device, allows your mobile device to stay synchronized in real time with the information on the Exchange server. That means that you contacts, calendar, tasks, and emails are always up to date.

What is needed for GoodLink to work?
There are four critical components needed for GoodLink to work. If any of these parts are removed or altered GoodLink will not work. Here is the list:
1) A mobile device that you own
2) A GoodLink server (provided by The Message Center)
3) An Exchange server (provided by The Message Center)
4) A domain name (i.e. yourdomain.com). You can purchase one at godaddy.com.

Can I have GoodLink without hosting my email with The Message Center?
GoodLink needs to be synchronized with an Exchange server mailbox at The Message Center. By itself, GoodLink will not work as it will not have anything to synchronize with.

What if we already have an Exchange server?
Unfortunately the GoodLink server needs to be on the same network as the Exchange server (due to latency and security issues).

Is my phone compatible with GoodLink?
Please click on the 'Device Compatibility' link on the right that will list the known devices that will work with GoodLink.

Is a wireless data plan needed?
The rule of thumb is: if you are able to open a web browser on your mobile device and go to yahoo.com, you should be able to use GoodLink. Unfortunately each wireless provider has different data plans that restrict certain types of data. Please consult your wireless carrier to validate that GoodLink will work with your existing data plan.

Is GoodLink able to check other email addresses that I have?
GoodLink is only able to synchronize with one mailbox on the Exchange server. If you have other email addresses that your email client (i.e. Outlook) is pulling/POPing, the email will be pushed to your GoodLink device. When you reply from your mobile device the 'reply from' address will be your primary alias that is hosted on The Message Center Exchange server.

How do I set up GoodLink on my mobile device?
Setting up GoodLink is very simple. The Message Center is the FIRST and ONLY hosted Exchange provider in the world to have a fully automated provisioning system for GoodLink. This allows you to instantly activate or de-activate GoodLink through the web based Control Panel. Once you activate it, you will receive a PIN in your inbox. On your mobile device you will go to (in the web browser) http://get.good.com and you will be prompted for the PIN that you received in your inbox. That's it!

Can I have more than one mobile device with GoodLink?
Unfortunately only one GoodLink account is able to synchronize with one mailbox. The good news is that you are able to de-activate and re-activate GoodLink instantly through the web based Control Panel to your new mobile device.
