NotifySync FAQs

What is NotifySync?
NotifySync service from The Message Center is an application that is installed on your BlackBerry that synchronizes your contacts, calendars, and email in real time with your Exchange server. That means that your contacts, calendar, and emails are always up to date...instantly...where ever you go!
And NotifySync works with any Exchange server!

What is needed for NotifySync to work with email service provided by The Message Center?
There are four critical components needed for NotifySync to work. If any of these parts are removed or altered NotifySync service will not work. Here is the list:

  • A BlackBerry device that you own.
  • A NotifySync Server (provided by The Message Center).
  • A mailbox on The Message Center Exchange or Zimbra servers.
  • A wireless data plan provided by your cellular provider.

Can I have NotifySync without hosting my email with The Message Center?
Yes! NotifySync can work with your own in-house Exchange server or with the mailbox that is hosted by The Message Center.

What is needed for NotifySync to work with email service provided by my in-house email server?
There are four critical components needed for NotifySync to work. If any of these parts are removed or altered NotifySync service will not work. Here is the list:

  • A BlackBerry device that you own.
  • A NotifySync Server (provided by The Message Center).
  • A mailbox on your in-house Exchange/Zimbra server.
  • A wireless data plan provided by your cellular provider.
  • A Activesync/OWA that is accessible anywhere on the internet.

Is my phone compatible with NotifySync?
Only BlackBerrys able to use a standard data plan are compatible with NotifySync.

Is a wireless data plan needed?
The rule of thumb is: if you are able to open a web browser on your mobile device and go to yahoo.com, you should be able to use NotifySync service. Unfortunately each wireless provider has different data plans that restrict certain types of data. Please consult your wireless carrier to validate that web browsing is allowed with your existing data plan.

How do I set up NotifySync on my mobile device?
Setting up NotifySync service is very easy. Simply add the service to your account and you are able to activate it with the over-the-air activation service...instantly!

Can I have more than one mobile device with NotifySync?
Unfortunately only one NotifySync account is able to synchronize with one mailbox. The good news is that you are able to de-activate and re-activate NotifySync instantly through the web based Control Panel to your new mobile device.

* NotifySync is not a product or service created by or associated with RIM (Research In Motion). NotifySync is a third party application strictly offered by The Message Center.
